Drug Peddler Arrested; 3.30 Grams Heroin Recovered by R.S. Pura Police

Jammu, January 10, 2026:
Continuing its intensified campaign against narcotics, Police Station R.S. Pura achieved another major breakthrough by arresting a drug peddler and recovering 3.30 grams of heroin (chitta). The action reflects Jammu Police’s sustained efforts to curb drug trafficking and protect society, especially the youth, from the menace of drugs.
On January 9, 2026, a police team from Police Station R.S. Pura, led by PSI Majid Shafi (No. 196456/EXJ), Incharge BPP Chakrohi, under the supervision of SHO R.S. Pura Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, was conducting routine patrolling near the Petrol Pump at Chakrohi, Suchetgarh. During the patrol, the team intercepted a suspicious Hyundai Creta vehicle bearing registration number JK02CF-0650.
On noticing the police presence, the occupant of the vehicle attempted to flee but was promptly apprehended by the alert police team. During preliminary questioning, the accused was identified as Sunil Choudhary, son of Chuni Lal, resident of Hansa, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu.
A personal search of the accused led to the recovery of 3.30 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession.
Following the recovery, a case FIR No. 09/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station R.S. Pura. The accused was arrested on the spot, and further investigation is underway to identify the source of the contraband, trace the supply chain, and uncover financial and other links associated with the illegal drug trade.
Jammu Police has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against drugs and organized crime and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the youth and maintaining a drug-free society.
