Drone-Dropped Arms & Ammunition Recovered by Samba Police

Samba, January 10, 2026:
Samba Police, in a major security operation, recovered a cache of arms and ammunition dropped by a drone in village Palura of tehsil Rajpura, district Samba.
According to official sources, on 09 January 2026, reliable information was received about a suspected Pakistani drone entering Indian territory from across the International Border. The drone reportedly dropped a packet in an open field at village Palura before returning towards the Pakistan side. The suspicious packet was wrapped in yellow tape.
Acting swiftly on the information, Samba Police registered FIR No. 06/2026 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Ghagwal. A joint search operation was then launched by Samba Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) in the area.
During the search, security forces recovered one Chinese-made High Explosive (HE) grenade, 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one Glock pistol with magazine, and one Star pistol along with two magazines from the spot.
Police have stated that further investigation is underway to trace the source, intended recipients, and possible links to cross-border terror networks. Security has been further strengthened in the border areas of the district.
