District Police Kishtwar Arrests Two Thieves, Recovers Stolen Property Worth ₹4 Lakh Within 24 Hours
Kishtwar, January 4, 2026:
District Police Kishtwar achieved a major breakthrough by swiftly solving a theft case within 24 hours and recovering stolen property worth approximately ₹4 lakh. Two accused persons were arrested by the police team of Police Station Chatroo.
Sharing details of the operation, Naresh Singh, SSP Kishtwar, stated that FIR No. 01/2026 under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Chatroo following the theft of a JCB rock breaker from near an Army Camp in the Chatroo area.
Acting promptly on the complaint, a police team led by SHO PS Chatroo, Inspector Vikram Singh, under the supervision of DySP PC Dachhan, immediately launched an investigation. Through a combination of technical surveillance, local intelligence, and sustained efforts, the team successfully identified and arrested the accused.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
Muzaffar Hussain, S/o Akal Din, R/o Padyarna
Muneer Hussain, S/o Ali Mohd, R/o Dool Kuchalna
During interrogation, both accused confessed to their involvement in the crime. On their disclosure, the stolen JCB rock breaker, valued at approximately ₹4,00,000, was recovered.
District Police Kishtwar reiterated its firm commitment to effective crime prevention and swift action against offenders, while ensuring the safety and security of the general public. Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by sharing any information related to unlawful activities in their areas.
