Three Drug Peddlers Arrested; 170 Grams Heroin & Sharp-Edged Weapons Seized by R.S. Pura Police

Jammu, December 09, 2025:
In a major success under the ongoing anti-narcotics drive, Police Station R.S. Pura arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 170 grams of heroin (Chitta) along with two sharp-edged weapons. This significant action highlights Jammu Police’s continued crackdown on drug trafficking and organized crime.

On December 08, a police team led by PSI Shahid Majeed Runyal, under the supervision of SHO R.S. Pura Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, was conducting routine patrolling near Daljeet Chowk when a suspicious Fortuner vehicle (No. T1224DL0672D) was intercepted. On spotting the police, the occupants attempted to flee, but were swiftly apprehended.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

Pritam Singh @ Sethi, S/o Mohan Singh, R/o Jerda, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba

Narayan Sharma @ Shunna, S/o Brita Lal Sharma, R/o Vijaypur Ward No.1, District Samba

Jaspreet Kour @ Preeti, W/o Narayan Singh, R/o Ward No.1, Vijaypur, District Samba


During the search, police recovered 06.92 grams of heroin from Narayan Sharma, 07.12 grams from Pritam Singh and 03.08 grams from Jaspreet Kour. Further vehicle search led to the seizure of 152 grams of heroin and two sharp-edged weapons (toka, khokhri), taking the total recovery to 170 grams of heroin.

Following the seizure, FIR No. 229/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29/60 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station R.S. Pura, and all three accused were arrested. Investigation is in progress to uncover the supply chain, financial network and other associates involved in the illegal trade.

Jammu Police reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, pledging continued proactive action to safeguard youth and maintain a drug-free society.
