Jammu, Nov 29, 2025:
The Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, Jammu and Kashmir, has officially announced the renaming of Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir as Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir. The decision follows a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs and directives of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory.
According to the notification issued by Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, the new name comes into effect immediately. Henceforth, all references to the institution will use the title Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.
Copies of the order have been forwarded to various constitutional offices including the President of India, Vice President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Supreme Court, Home Secretary, and to all Governors and Chief Ministers across the country.
