Jammu (Rural) Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers With Heroin-Like Substance at Nagrota

In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a major success by arresting two notorious drug peddlers and recovering illicit drugs during routine patrolling and checking operations in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota.
On December 28, 2025, at around 6:45 PM, a police team led by PSI Nikhal Sharma was deployed for patrolling and checking duty at Ram Nagar Morh, NHW TCP Bypass near Crusher Plant, Nagrota. During the operation, an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number JK02DH-2877, coming from the Jammu side, was signalled to stop.
Upon questioning, the driver identified himself as Jog Raj, son of Gulzar Singh, resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, while the co-passenger disclosed his identity as Ashish Jeet Singh, son of Baljeet Singh, also a resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Both individuals were found behaving suspiciously.
During a personal search, police recovered a heroin-like substance weighing approximately 5–6 grams each from the possession of both accused persons.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 261/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, and further investigation is underway.
Jammu (Rural) Police reiterated its commitment to continue strict action against drug trafficking and to ensure a drug-free society.
