Anantnag Police achieved a significant breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to curb forest-related offences by arresting two timber smugglers involved in the illegal cutting of forest trees in the Kherpeth forest area.
Police Station Larnoo received specific and credible information regarding the involvement of two individuals—Adil Ahmad Padder, son of Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Padder, resident of Larnoo, and Rayees Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ab. Salaam Sheikh, resident of Kherpeth—in illicit forest activities.
Acting promptly on the tip-off, a case FIR No. 42/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Larnoo. During the investigation, a police team conducted a raid at the identified location in the Kherpeth forest area.
