Udhampur Police Demolish Illegal Property Worth Crores Belonging to Notorious Narco Smuggler Makhan Din

Udhampur, November 15, 2025:
In a major crackdown on narco-crime, Udhampur Police, in close coordination with the District Administration, demolished illegal properties worth crores belonging to notorious drug smuggler Makhan Din, son of Hakim Din, resident of Narsoo, Tehsil Chenani.

According to officials, Makhan Din is a habitual offender and was earlier booked in FIR No. 188/2024 registered at Police Station Chenani. Due to his repeated involvement in drug trafficking, he was detained under PIT NDPS Act and is currently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.

During the investigation, the Investigating Officer (IO) uncovered that the accused had encroached upon state land and illegally constructed five commercial structures and one residential property worth crores along NH-44 at Narsoo, Chenani. These constructions were found to have been raised using the proceeds of narco trade.

As part of the intensified drive to dismantle the financial networks supporting drug trafficking, the authorities carried out a demolition operation, razing all illegal structures linked to the accused.

The action reflects the administration's commitment to cracking down on drug peddlers and ensuring strict enforcement against those involved in the illicit narco trade.
