Udhampur Police Attaches Drug Peddlers’ Property Worth ₹80 Lakh in Poonch

Udhampur, November 2:
In a major action against narcotics smuggling, Udhampur Police has attached immovable and movable properties worth approximately ₹80 lakh belonging to two drug peddlers — Nazakat Hussain, son of Allah Din, resident of Ward No.10, Jhulas, Poonch, and Mukhtar Ahmed, son of Rashid Mohd, resident of Karmara, Poonch — under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act.

The action follows an investigation in FIR No. 292/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 of BNS registered at Police Station Udhampur. During the probe, it was revealed that the accused had accumulated multiple assets through proceeds of the narcotics trade.

The attached properties include:

One residential house on land Khasra No. 1322 at Village Jhulas belonging to Nazakat Hussain.

Three vehicles:

1. JCB (JK12B-0553)

2. Alto Car (JK12B-8765)

3. Alto Car (JK12B-1664)

One residential house at Village Karmara belonging to Mukhtar Ahmed.

The Investigating Officer found sufficient grounds to believe that these properties were purchased using money earned from drug trafficking, and hence they were attached under due provisions of law.

The total value of the attached assets is estimated to be around ₹80 lakh.

It is noteworthy that Udhampur Police has so far attached properties worth ₹9.10 crore in NDPS-related cases during the current year, reaffirming its strong commitment to making Udhampur a Drugs-Free District.
