SDM Dudu, Dr. Manmeet Kumar, on Thursday flagged off an exposure-cum-capacity building tour for farmers belonging to the Rasli and Latti zones. The group is headed to Bhaderwah, where they will receive training and practical insight into the commercial cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants.
The initiative has been undertaken under the Capex Budget 2025–26 with the objective of encouraging farmers to adopt high-value crops that can enhance their income and promote sustainable agriculture. During the visit, farmers will interact with experts, visit cultivation sites, and learn about advanced techniques in the production, processing, and marketing of medicinal and aromatic plants.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Dr. Manmeet Kumar highlighted that such exposure visits play a crucial role in empowering the farming community by providing them with hands-on learning opportunities. He emphasized that commercial cultivation of these plants has immense market potential and can significantly uplift the rural economy.
The farmers expressed gratitude to the administration for providing them with this opportunity and hoped to benefit from the knowledge and experience gained during the visit.
