Property Worth ₹1.11 Crore of Drug Peddler Attached by Poonch Police
Poonch, November 13, 2025:
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Poonch Police has attached property valued at ₹1.11 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the district.

The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 178/2025 registered at Police Station Poonch under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The property belongs to Mohd Iqbal, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Seri Khwaja and currently living in Kamsar.

The attached asset — a three-storey under-construction building registered in the name of his wife, Shahnaz Kouser — is located under Khasra No. 2093, measuring 10 marla in Kamsar. Authorities estimate its value at approximately ₹1.11 crore. The action has been taken under the NDPS Act, and the Competent Authority (SAFEMA) has been duly informed.

Police officials stated that the move targets the financial backbone of illicit narcotics operations, sending a strong message that those involved in drug trafficking will face severe legal and economic repercussions.

District Police Poonch reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating the drug menace and urged the public to share any credible information related to drug peddling. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
