Inter-District Drug Network Busted in Udhampur, Four Peddlers Arrested; Heroin Seized

Udhampur, November 06:
In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police has busted inter-district drug modules and arrested four drug peddlers in three separate operations carried out in Rehambal and Majalta areas. The police recovered a significant quantity of heroin along with cash and other incriminating material.

Case 1 (PS Rehambal):
During routine traffic checking at Phalata Naka on the National Highway, a police team intercepted an Ertiga vehicle (JK01BB-9337) traveling from Jammu towards Udhampur. On personal frisking of two passengers, the police recovered 9.24 grams of heroin from Rayees Ahmad Rather, resident of Kaloosa Bandipora, and 10.10 grams of heroin from Bazil Nazir, resident of Nowpora Bandipora.
A case under FIR No. 186/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal, and investigation is underway.

Case 2 (PS Majalta):
Acting on naka checking at Battal, the police intercepted a motorcycle (JK02DL-5407) coming from Manwal. The rider, identified as Lateef Ali, resident of Jagti Nagrota, was found carrying 50 grams of heroin, ₹6100 in cash, and a digital weighing machine.
FIR No. 90/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta.

Case 3 (PS Majalta):
During patrolling near Manwal Gambhir Nallah, police apprehended Sanjay Kumar, resident of Dansal. A search led to the recovery of 10 grams of heroin from his possession.
In this connection, FIR No. 89/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta.

With these three arrests, the total number of drug peddlers nabbed by Udhampur Police this year has reached 160, reflecting the police's ongoing and strong commitment to creating a drug-free Udhampur.
