Udhampur, October 2: Udhampur Police have solved a theft case within hours by arresting two accused and recovering stolen property.
According to police, a written complaint was lodged by Kuldeep Kumar, son of Uttam Kumar, resident of Channi Morh, Udhampur, regarding the theft of two batteries from Truck No. JK14B-8272 attached with PHE Civil Udhampur. On this complaint, a case under FIR No. 153/2025 U/S 305(e) BNS was registered at Police Station Rehambal.
During investigation, a police team led by the SHO of PS Rehambal apprehended two accused persons identified as Pritam Singh, son of Kali Dass, resident of Garhi, Udhampur, and Mohd. Salim, son of Shah Mohd., resident of Garhi, Udhampur. On their disclosure, both the stolen batteries worth around ₹20,000 were recovered.
Police said further investigation in the case is underway.
