In a significant success, Udhampur Police has apprehended a narcotics absconder who had been evading arrest since 2020. The accused, identified as Rajinder Kumar alias Nittu, son of Bansi Lal, resident of Sewna, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur, was wanted in connection with FIR No. 58/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Chenani.
A warrant under Section 299 CrPC had been issued by the Hon’ble Additional Sessions Court, Udhampur, for his arrest. Acting promptly on the warrant, the police team from Police Station Chenani, led by its SHO, successfully traced and arrested the absconder.
The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur as per court orders.
The operation reflects the continued efforts of Udhampur Police to bring long-time absconders involved in drug-related cases to justice.
