New York, October 2, 2025:
Elon Musk has made history by becoming the first person in the world to reach a net worth of $500 billion, accordingly to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO crossed the half-trillion mark on October 1, 2025, with his wealth briefly touching $500.1 billion before slightly fluctuating.
The surge in Musk’s fortune comes amid a strong rebound in Tesla’s stock, which gained over 14 percent this year and rose by more than 3 percent on the day of the announcement, adding over $6 billion to his wealth. Musk further boosted investor confidence by personally purchasing $1 billion worth of Tesla shares.
Musk’s vast holdings in private companies, including SpaceX and xAI, have also contributed significantly to his record valuation. SpaceX is reportedly valued at nearly $400 billion, while xAI reached a $75 billion valuation earlier this year.
This milestone underscores Musk’s dominance in the technology, space, and artificial intelligence industries, making him the first individual in history to achieve a half-trillion-dollar fortune.
Forbes noted that the figure could fluctuate with market movements, particularly given the volatility of Tesla shares and valuations of Musk’s private ventures.
