Samba, October 01, 2025: In its continued crackdown on narcotics, Samba Police arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh and recovered 10 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
A police party from PS Ramgarh, while conducting naka duty at Keso Manhashan, intercepted a motorcycle (Registration No. JK02DD-1972) coming from Koulpur towards Ramgarh. During checking, approximately 10 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the rider.
The accused has been identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Moju Din, resident of Rakh Barotian, Tehsil Vijaypur, Samba. He was immediately taken into custody. The contraband as well as the motorcycle used in the crime have been seized.
Police have registered FIR No. 74/2025 under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act at PS Ramgarh, and further investigation is underway.
