Budgam, October 31, 2025:
As part of the nationwide celebrations commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Budgam Police observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm by organizing a ‘Run for Unity’ and ‘Photo Exhibition’ across all Police Stations in the district.
The main event, Run for Unity, began from Railway Station Budgam to T-Crossing Budgam and saw an overwhelming participation of over 300 students and local youth, displaying strong patriotic fervor and discipline.
The run was flagged off by Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS), SSP Budgam, in the presence of ASP Budgam Shri Sajjad Bukhari (JKPS), Dy.SP Hqrs Budgam Shri Sajad Ahmad (JKPS), Dy.SP DAR Shri Ghulam Mohiuddin, and SHO Budgam.
Addressing the participants, SSP Budgam paid glowing tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, lauding his monumental contribution to the unity and integrity of India. He urged the youth to follow Patel’s ideals of nation-building, brotherhood, and harmony.
Similar events, including ‘Run for Unity’ and ‘Photo Exhibition’, were held in all Police Stations and selected schools across District Budgam. Police officers interacted with the participants, spreading the message of national integration and communal harmony. Over 1500 students and local youth took part in these events across the district.
The celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony and distribution of refreshments among participants. Officers expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of students and youth, noting that such events strengthen the bond between police and the community while promoting unity and patriotism.
