Budgam, October 28, 2025:
In a continued effort to eradicate the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized contraband substances in the Qazibagh area of the district.
Acting on specific information, a police team from Police Station Budgam led by PSI Ashiq Hussain established a checkpoint near Girls Middle School Qazibagh. Upon spotting the police, two suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended promptly.
During their personal search, charas-like substances were recovered. The accused were identified as Anees Bashir Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, resident of Zorigund, and Nasir Shabeer Magloo, son of Shabeer Ahmad Magloo, resident of Qazibagh Thokarpora.
A case under FIR No. 301/2025 has been registered under sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation is in progress.
Budgam Police have urged the public to cooperate in the campaign against drug abuse and report any related suspicious activities.
