Anantnag, October 08, 2025:
In a continued effort to strengthen internal security and prevent the misuse of mobile communication services, Anantnag Police on Tuesday carried out special inspections of SIM card vendors across the district.
Police teams conducted surprise checks at multiple locations to ensure strict compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, proper verification of documents, and to curb unauthorized activation of SIM cards without valid credentials.
During the inspection, officers interacted with the vendors and emphasized their critical role in maintaining the integrity of communication networks. They were also cautioned against any negligence that could lead to the misuse of SIM cards for unlawful or anti-national activities.
Vendors were instructed to follow all KYC and documentation guidelines issued by the authorities without any lapse.
This inspection drive is part of Anantnag Police’s ongoing initiative to enhance public safety, ensure accountability among telecom retailers, and prevent any potential security threats arising from misuse of communication services.
