Udhampur, September 25:
Continuing its drive against drug menace, Udhampur Police apprehended a notorious drug peddler and recovered 3.53 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police team of Police Station Rehambal, led by the SHO, was on patrolling and checking duty when they intercepted a suspicious individual who attempted to evade by turning back upon noticing the police party.
The suspect was identified as Jeevan Kumar, son of Tuleyinder Kumar, resident of Ward No. 07, Udhampur. On frisking, heroin was recovered from him.
The accused was immediately arrested, and a case under FIR No. 147/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
