Srinagar, September 29, 2025:
Srinagar Police have solved a theft case reported at Police Station Nowhatta and recovered stolen gold items worth around ₹12 lakhs.
The case was registered on September 21, 2025, following a complaint by Mohammad Yousuf Rather of Rajouri Kadal, who reported that unknown persons had broken into his house and stolen gold valuables. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted, which identified and apprehended the accused, Waseem Ahmad Kaloo of Chattabal.
On his disclosure, the stolen gold was recovered, and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation is underway to determine the involvement of others and to recover any remaining stolen property.
Police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling social crimes and ensuring the safety of citizens.
