Srinagar, September 1, 2025: Srinagar Police have solved a theft case reported at Police Station Nishat and recovered stolen property worth several lakhs.
On August 24, 2025, a complaint was lodged by Mohammad Aslam Lone of Gupkar Mohalla, Nishat, regarding the theft of cash and gold ornaments. Acting swiftly, Police registered FIR No. 69/2025 under relevant sections and launched an investigation.
During the probe, Shahid Mehraj Bhat of Meerakabad, Shalimar, was identified as the accused and subsequently arrested. Following his disclosure, police recovered Rs. 50,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.65 lakh.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing, and more recoveries are expected. Srinagar Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens.
