Srinagar, September 29, 2025:
Srinagar Police participated in the disposal of seized narcotic substances under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA) at IGC Lassipora, Pulwama. The exercise covered contraband seized in connection with 49 FIRs registered in Srinagar.
Around 1,140 kilograms of narcotics were destroyed, including 144.47 kgs of poppy straw, 45.63 kgs of ganja, 5.01 kgs of charas, 0.93 kgs of heroin, 9,247 bottles of codeine phosphate, and 6,664 tablets of psychotropic substances.
The drive, conducted in the presence of the Drug Disposal Committee, highlights Jammu and Kashmir Police’s firm resolve to eliminate drug abuse and dismantle trafficking networks. Srinagar Police has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious narcotics-related activities.
