Samba, September 8: The Samba-Sumb road has once again been blocked near Palai Takki due to a massive landslide. Locals expressed their anger, stating that the administration has yet to take any concrete steps to clear the debris, causing severe inconvenience to the public.
According to reports, even MLA Surjeet Singh Slathia had to stop at the landslide site yesterday. Residents called it both shameful and concerning that even after several days, the Samba-Sumb road has not been restored for traffic.
The situation worsened this morning when employees from various departments—including HSS Goran, HSS Sumb, HSS Samotha, MS Khabbal, MS Bain Babeyti, MS Dabri, MS Chandi, MS Dunei, PS Thandwal, PS Kaneer, PS Battal, among others—had to return back after being unable to cross the landslide.
Locals have demanded that the road be cleared immediately and traffic restored so that school-going children, employees, and the general public can heave a sigh of relief.
