Samba, September 19, 2025: In a major success against drug smuggling, Samba Police arrested a narcotics smuggler and recovered around 2.420 kgs of poppy straw-like substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a truck (Registration No. HP64B-7804) near Dabur Factory, Bari Brahmana. During checking, the contraband was recovered from the vehicle.
The accused has been identified as Virender Singh, son of Ganga Ram, resident of Dahar, Tehsil Shalai, District Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh). The accused has been taken into custody while the vehicle and contraband were seized.
A case FIR No. 137/2025 under Sections 8/15/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana, and further investigation is underway.
