Sakeena Itoo Reviews Professional Education Opportunities with JKBOPEE Chairperson
Srinagar, September 26:
Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today held a meeting with Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE), Prof. Minu Mahajan, to discuss measures for strengthening professional education opportunities across the Union Territory.

The Minister took a detailed appraisal of the functioning of JKBOPEE and the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Srinagar. She directed the Chairperson to explore the feasibility of creating additional seats in the special B.Ed course at CRC, citing growing demand for trained special educators in both mainstream and specialized institutions.

Sakeena Itoo also called for establishing a standard grievance redressal mechanism to facilitate students and applicants. Appreciating JKBOPEE’s role in ensuring transparent and merit-based admissions, she assured full government support in expanding professional and technical education avenues for J&K students.

The Chairperson expressed gratitude to the Minister for securing an additional 290 MBBS seats for students of J&K, terming it a significant step towards providing greater opportunities in medical education and reinforcing the government’s commitment to making J&K a hub of academic excellence.
