Sakeena Itoo Reviews Developmental Scenario of Mendhar, Rafiabad Constituencies
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 29:
Minister for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today convened a comprehensive review meeting to assess developmental works, infrastructure projects and welfare initiatives in Mendhar and Rafiabad Assembly Constituencies.

The meeting was attended by Cabinet Ministers Javed Ahmed Rana and Javid Ahmed Dar, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Shantamanu, Secretary Health & Medical Education Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Director School Education Jammu, Director Health Services Kashmir/Jammu, and other senior officers.

Sakeena Itoo stressed the need to accelerate ongoing projects in healthcare, education, and social welfare. She directed officials to resolve bottlenecks delaying public service delivery and underlined the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development for border and rural areas.

Minister Javed Rana raised concerns over staff shortages in schools in Mendhar, calling for immediate recruitment and completion of pending projects including the Model School in Pathanatir and girls’ hostels in Balakot and Mendhar. He also sought the introduction of science subjects in schools and filling of vacancies in the health sector to strengthen services in remote areas.

Agriculture Minister Javed Dar highlighted issues in Rafiabad, including staffing shortages in educational institutions, incomplete buildings, and pending compensation to land donors. He specifically called for completion of Government Degree College Bomai, girls’ hostels in Watergam and Rohama, and SDH Rohama.

Responding to the issues, Sakeena Itoo assured that transparency will be maintained in completing pending projects and a plan will be devised to address staffing gaps in healthcare and education. She directed rational deployment of existing resources and timely filling of vacancies to ensure uninterrupted services in schools, colleges, hospitals, and health centres.
