Jammu Police, South Zone Busts Drug Network: Commercial Quantity of Heroin Seized, Husband-Wife Duo Among 3 Arrested
Jammu, September 22, 2025:
In a significant crackdown against narco-terror and drug trafficking, Jammu Police, South Zone, has busted a drug peddling network and arrested three persons, including a husband-wife duo, recovering a commercial quantity of heroin along with electronic weighing machines.

On September 20, during a naka checking at Railway Pulli, Narwal, police apprehended one accused, identified as Vishal S/o Ajay R/o Ludhiana, A/P Rajeev Nagar, from whom 265 grams of heroin (Chitta) and an electronic weighing machine were recovered.

Based on his disclosure, two more accused were arrested:

Gogi S/o Neep Ram R/o Rajeev Nagar, Narwal

Reema W/o Gogi R/o Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu


From their possession, police seized 15 grams of heroin and another electronic weighing machine.

A case under FIR No. 279/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort.

Sustained Crackdown on Drug Hotspots

The recovery is part of a sustained campaign by Sub Division East targeting hotspots like Rajeev Nagar and Qasim Nagar. In the last eight months alone, police have achieved remarkable results:

31 FIRs registered under NDPS Act

1.183 kg of heroin recovered (worth ₹2–3 crore in the international market)

10 kg of Ganja seized

35 accused arrested

220 individuals booked under preventive actions for drug-related activities


These figures highlight Jammu Police’s determined efforts to dismantle the drug menace in Rajeev Nagar and adjoining areas.

Strong Supervision and Leadership

The operation was executed by SHO Bahu Fort and ICPP Narwal, assisted by PSI Irshad Ahmed, under the close supervision of SDPO City East and SP City South Jammu, with overall guidance from SSP Jammu.

Probe and Public Appeal

Police are investigating the source and intended destination of the contraband, with financial investigations initiated to track and seize drug money. Efforts are also underway to expose backward and forward linkages of the network.

Jammu Police has appealed to citizens for cooperation in its mission to create a drug-free society by:

Sharing information on drug trafficking or suspicious activities.

Encouraging youth to stay away from drugs.

Standing united with police in eradicating this social evil.
