Jammu, September 01, 2025:
In a major success against drug trafficking, Jammu Police, under the supervision of SSP Jammu and direct guidance of SP City South, SDPO City East, and SHO Bahu Fort, apprehended a suspected drug peddler and seized 6.5 kg of ganja-like substance.
During routine patrolling, a police team from Police Post Narwal, led by IC Police Post Narwal, intercepted a suspicious individual near Shankar Nagar, Narwal. The accused was identified as Sunil Kumar Chouhan, son of Ram Dayal, a resident of Chhattisgarh, presently living in Channi Rama. Upon search, the contraband was recovered from his possession.
A case under FIR No. 261/25 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and the accused has been taken into custody for further investigation.
Jammu Police reaffirmed its resolve to eliminate the drug menace from society and appealed to citizens to share information about drug-related activities.
