Jammu, September 17, 2025 – Continuing its tough stance against drug peddlers and to curb the growing menace of narcotics, Jammu & Kashmir Police in Jammu District has once again booked a notorious drug kingpin, Chirag Attri of Chak Jaralan, Bishnah, under the PIT NDPS Act and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur.
The habitual and wanted drug smuggler, Chirag Attri S/o Ved Ram Attri, was booked under PIT-NDPS after formal detention orders were obtained from the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
Police said multiple NDPS cases had been registered against Attri, who was actively involved in promoting drug trade by supplying narcotics to local youth. He had earlier been detained under PIT NDPS in 2024, but after his release, he resumed drug trafficking in Jammu District and was recently arrested in yet another NDPS case.
Despite repeated arrests and FIRs, Attri continued his criminal activities and frequently secured bail from the court. To prevent him from further indulging in drug trafficking, a dossier was prepared and forwarded, following which the Divisional Commissioner issued a PIT NDPS detention warrant.
The arrest operation was executed by a team of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Bishnah, under the close supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu, and overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
Locals of the area have applauded the Jammu Police for its strict action and firm resolve in the ongoing #WarOnDrugs.
