J&K Police Launches Extensive Cleanliness Drive under ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’
Srinagar, September 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police has launched a large-scale cleanliness campaign across the Union Territory as part of the nationwide ‘Swachhta Abhiyan.’ The initiative, led by Police Wing Heads and supervised by Unit Heads, began with pledge ceremonies and focuses on maintaining hygiene in police establishments and nearby areas.

Personnel have been actively clearing debris, removing waste, and conducting sanitation drives, while plantation activities and sensitization sessions are being held to promote environmental awareness and civic responsibility. Local residents, shopkeepers, and youth have also joined hands in the campaign.

JKAP and IRP battalions across Jammu and Kashmir carried out plantation drives, polythene waste clearance, fitness and wellness initiatives, and cleanliness activities at their respective headquarters and adjoining areas. District Police units in Anantnag, Handwara, Kulgam, Awantipora, Ganderbal, Sopore, and Shopian also organized similar drives and administered the Swachhta pledge.

The CID Wing and State Investigation Agency (SIA) participated in the campaign with cleanliness activities at their offices.

The initiative has been widely appreciated by the community, with J&K Police reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection, community welfare, and sustainable practices.
