Udhampur, September 21:
In a major success against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police arrested an inter-district drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession in Rehambal area.
During routine naka checking at Phlata, a police party from Police Station Rehambal led by its SHO intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number HR72A/5700, driven by Mohd. Arif, son of Mohd. Ayub, resident of Birshella, District Doda.
On thorough checking, police recovered 15.67 grams of heroin-like substance from the driver. The accused was immediately arrested on the spot.
In this connection, FIR No. 145/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal. Further investigation into the case is underway.
