Due to Samba–Sumb Road Blockage, Innocent Girl’s Life at Risk, Carried on Cot to Reach Hospital

Due to Samba–Sumb Road Blockage, Innocent Girl’s Life at Risk, Carried on Cot to Reach Hospital
Samba, September 09:
The poor condition of the Samba–Sumb road led to a very tragic incident today. A young girl accidentally fell from the roof of her house, sustaining serious head and leg injuries. Her family immediately rushed her to Block Sumb Hospital, where doctors, after providing first aid, referred her to District Hospital Samba due to her critical condition.

However, the biggest challenge arose when the road near Palai Takki was completely blocked because of a landslide. Though the administration had deployed a JCB to clear the debris, it was still impossible to cross the road.

In order to save the child’s life, the family and locals had to struggle hard. An ambulance was called through the 108 emergency number, but it could not move forward due to the road closure. Finally, the villagers carried the injured girl on a cot, crossed the debris on foot, and then shifted her into a vehicle waiting on the other side. From there, she was transferred to an ambulance, which took her to District Hospital Samba.

This incident raises serious questions about the negligence of the administration. Locals expressed their anger, stating that despite the road being blocked for several days due to landslides, the authorities have failed to clear it properly.

They strongly appealed to the administration to ensure immediate clearance of all landslide-affected stretches from Samba to Goran so that people do not have to face such life-threatening situations in the future.
