District Administration Kathua Distributes Relief to Calamity-Hit Families

Kathua, September 7: District Administration Kathua, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, today organised relief distribution camps in Kathera, Bhed Balode, Janglote, Dilwan and Bohra panchayats to support families affected by recent heavy rains and floods.

Essential relief material including blankets, dry ration, mattresses and tents was distributed to the affected households to mitigate their immediate hardships. The initiative formed part of the administration’s continued outreach to provide succour to people impacted by torrential rains, floods and damage to property.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, while interacting with the locals, assured that the administration will extend every possible assistance to safeguard the well-being of the people and restore normalcy at the earliest. He stressed that restoring essential services, supporting displaced families, and addressing grievances remain top priorities.

The DC also directed revenue and field officers to maintain close contact with people, promptly assess damages to houses and livestock, and submit reports for early sanction of compensation.

ADC Kathua Vishavjeet Singh, Tehsildar Kathua Vikram Kumar and other revenue officials were also present and interacted with the affected families to take firsthand account of their concerns.
