Udhampur, September 13: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today chaired a meeting of officers from line departments to finalize arrangements for the smooth celebration of the upcoming “Sewa Parv-2025”. The fortnight-long event will be observed across Udhampur district from September 17 to October 2, 2025.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, DFO, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, and other senior officers from various departments.
During the meeting, the Chief Planning Officer presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the proposed activities and programmes.
Addressing the officers, the DC stressed on department-wise planning for effective execution of events. She directed special focus on cleanliness drives in public places and government offices, along with organizing health camps, blood donation camps, outreach with elderly and vulnerable groups, and awareness campaigns on government welfare schemes to ensure grassroots participation.
The DC further instructed departments to integrate key national and state initiatives including Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam, Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu and Kashmir, financial inclusion drives, and awareness on water-borne diseases.
Highlighting the wide spectrum of activities, she informed that the fortnight will feature plantation drives, health check-ups, blood donation camps, educational programmes, workshops, sustainable practices, beautification campaigns, and extensive IEC initiatives. Real-time monitoring, visual documentation, and social media updates will ensure transparency and greater public participation.
Special emphasis was placed on the roles of Rural Development, Health, Education, Municipal Council, and Social Welfare Departments, with directions to design innovative programmes under flagship schemes so that their benefits reach the grassroots.
The DC directed all departments to submit their detailed action plans by today evening and urged close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the active involvement of the community in all activities planned under Sewa Parv-2025.
