Kishtwar, September 10: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), today handed over a tractor key to farmer Mohammed Shafi from Nowpachi, Sub Division Marwah, under the Farm Mechanization and Automation Scheme of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) for 2025-26.
The farmer received a 50% subsidy with a maximum limit of ₹4.5 lakh to support modern farming practices in the remote area. So far, four tractors have been provided to beneficiaries under the same scheme in the district.
DC Sharma interacted with the beneficiary and highlighted the importance of adopting mechanization to boost productivity. He urged farmers to avail benefits of HADP schemes, which offer subsidies ranging from 50% to 90% for agricultural development.
The event was attended by ADC Kishtwar Sh. Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), CAO Kishtwar Kushal Chandel, DAO Kishtwar Rajeshwar Singh Rana, SDO Kishtwar Manzoor Ahmed Zarger, SDAO Marwah Susheel Sharma, and SDAO Paddar Dheeraj Singh.
