Budgam, August 20, 2025:In its continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Budgam Police apprehended a drug peddler in the Chadoora area and seized contraband substances from his possession.
During naka checking at Nowbugh village, a police team from Police Station Chadoora, led by HC Nazir Ahmed, intercepted a suspicious individual carrying a polythene bag. The accused, identified as Hilal Ahmed Dar, son of Ab Rashid Dar and resident of Nowbugh, Chadoora, tried to escape but was swiftly apprehended by the police.
On thorough checking, 2.92 kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession. A case under FIR No. 155/2025 has been registered at Police Station Chadoora under Section 8/15 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation has been initiated.
Budgam Police has reiterated its strong commitment to eliminate the drug menace from society and appealed to the public to share any information regarding drug trafficking, assuring strict legal action against those involved in the illicit trade.
