Budgam, August 19, 2025: Continuing its drive against drug menace, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler in the Soibugh area and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police team from Police Post Soibugh, led by ASI Nazir Ahmad, had set up a checkpoint at Galwanpora Crossing where they intercepted a suspicious individual.
On questioning, the accused identified himself as Muzamil Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Ayoub Khan, a resident of Bathaar. A personal search led to the recovery of contraband substances. The accused was immediately taken into custody, and the seized material was confiscated on the spot.
Accordingly, an FIR No. 237/2025 under Sections 8 and 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation is in progress.
Budgam Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating drug abuse and assured strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
