Kathua, August 17:
A tragic cloudburst struck the hilly areas of Kathua district, causing heavy water flow in rivers and streams. The sudden disaster has claimed the lives of four to five people, while several others have been affected.
Rescue operations are being carried out by columns of the Indian Army in close coordination with the Civil Administration and J&K Police. Families from the affected areas are being evacuated to safer locations. Authorities are ensuring timely supply of food, medical aid, and essential care to all impacted people.
Officials have urged residents to remain alert and avoid venturing near vulnerable water bodies as more rains are expected in the coming hours.
