🔸 After June 2018, Jammu & Kashmir was under Governor’s/President’s Rule.
🔸 On 31 October 2019, Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 was abrogated, and it was reorganized into two Union Territories (J&K and Ladakh).
🔸 Since then, J&K has no Chief Minister (only a Lieutenant Governor).

currently, Omar Abdullah is serving as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, having officially taken office on 16 October 2024. He became the first Chief Minister under the new UT status created after the revocation of Article 370 and the dissolution of statehood in 2019 .

Omar Abdullah is the present Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir UT, serving since 16 October 2024 .

He heads the inaugural “Second Omar Abdullah Ministry” following the 2024 assembly elections .
