Srinagar, July 09:
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a crucial meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) to review the corporation’s performance and strategize future initiatives aimed at strengthening tourism infrastructure and hospitality services across the Union Territory.

During the meeting, CM Abdullah emphasized the need to make JKTDC more vibrant, competitive, and visitor-friendly. The discussions centered around improving service quality, upgrading tourist accommodations, and accelerating the development of tourism-related infrastructure to attract more domestic and international visitors.

The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a premier travel destination, highlighting the corporation’s role in driving tourism-led economic growth.

“Enhancing the appeal and efficiency of JKTDC will significantly boost the tourism sector, generate employment, and promote local culture,” said Omar Abdullah.

The board also deliberated on new projects, public-private partnerships, and innovative strategies to increase the competitiveness of JKTDC in the national tourism market.
