Samba, May 14, 2025: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Samba Police have attached properties worth approximately ₹50 lakhs belonging to two notorious drug peddlers under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
The seized assets include two pakka single-storey residential houses and a Mahindra Pickup vehicle (registration number JK21B-3622). The properties belong to Farman Ali alias Munna, son of Bhag Hussain, resident of Karel Manhansan, Bishnah, and Farman Din alias Fama, son of Gashu Din, resident of Laswara, Bishnah — both presently residing in Balole Khad, Bari Brahmana.
The action was executed under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and is connected to FIR No. 06/2024 and FIR No. 147/2023 registered under various sections including 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 at Police Station Bari Brahmana.
Investigations revealed that the attached properties were illegally acquired through proceeds from narcotic drug trafficking. This move signifies a major step by Samba Police to choke the financial roots of drug peddlers and dismantle the illegal drug trade in the region.
The local population has welcomed the strong action, appreciating the police’s firm stand against the menace of drugs.
The operation was carried out by a special team led by the SHO of PS Bari Brahmana, under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana and overall guidance of SSP Samba.
