Jammu Police Solves Theft Case in Arnia Within 24 Hours, Accused Arrested, Stolen Weapon Recovered
Jammu, May 14, 2025:
In a swift and effective action, Jammu Police solved a theft case in the Arnia area within 24 hours of its reporting. One accused has been arrested, and a stolen 12-bore double-barrel gun has been successfully recovered.

The case came to light after a written complaint was lodged by Poonam Devi, wife of Naresh Kumar, a resident of Malley-de-Kothey, at Police Station Arnia. In her complaint, she reported that an unidentified person had stolen a 12-bore double-barrel gun from her house.

Acting promptly on the complaint, Police Station Arnia registered FIR No. 23/2025 under Section 331(4)/305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation was entrusted to Sub-Inspector Harjinder Pal Singh, under the supervision of SHO Arnia, Inspector Dilawar Kumar.

Based on both human intelligence and technical inputs, the police team rounded up a suspect who, after sustained interrogation, confessed to the crime. The accused has been identified as Rahul Chandail alias Salute Maar, son of Ramesh Lal, a resident of Allah, Arnia.

Following his disclosure, the police recovered the stolen 12-bore double-barrel gun.

The investigation is still ongoing. The case has been solved under the supervision of SHO Police Station Arnia, SDPO RS Pura, and under the overall guidance of SP Headquarters Jammu.
