Jammu, 14 May 2025:
In a major breakthrough, Jammu Police have arrested two individuals involved in a violent assault case reported in the Bishnah area. The timely action highlights the police department’s continued commitment to curbing criminal activities in the region.
The case originated from a complaint lodged on 12 May 2025 at Police Station Bishnah by Manjeet Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Mehmoodpur, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu. As per the complaint, the victim was brutally attacked with sharp-edged weapons by two accused identified as:
1. Udhay Kumar alias Kalu, son of Jagan Nath, resident of Ward No. 10, Bishnah
2. Sahil Kumar, son of Bachan Dass, resident of Ward No. 11, Bishnah
The accused reportedly used two tokas (sharp-edged weapons) in the assault, causing serious injuries to the victim. He was immediately rushed to SDH Bishnah for medical treatment.
Following the registration of FIR No. 44/25 under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act, a dedicated police team led by SHO Bishnah, Inspector Sushil Choudhary, launched a swift investigation. Multiple raids were conducted, leading to the successful arrest of both accused.
During sustained interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in the crime. Based on their disclosure, the weapons used in the assault were recovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
Local residents have commended the prompt and efficient response of the Jammu Police, praising their efforts in swiftly bringing the perpetrators to justice.
