Samba Police Seizes 11 Vehicles in Major Crackdown on Illegal Mining

Samba, April 15, 2025: In a significant crackdown on illegal mining activities, Samba Police have seized a total of eleven vehicles, including five dumpers, across various locations in the district. These vehicles were reportedly being used for the illegal transportation and extraction of construction material.

The operation was carried out by police teams led by SHO Police Station Samba, SHO Police Station Ghagwal, SHO Police Station Vijaypur, Incharge Police Post Rakh Amb Talli, and Incharge Police Post Supwal during routine patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.

The seized vehicles include five dumpers bearing registration numbers JK21J-0059, JK21J-3837, JK02CU-8647, JK21E-9867, and JK21D-0133, one tractor trolley with registration number JK21D-9563, and five additional tractor trolleys without registration numbers.

All the vehicles involved in the illegal activity have been handed over to the Geology and Mining Department, Samba, for further legal proceedings.

The police have reaffirmed their commitment to continue such drives to curb illegal mining and protect the region's natural resources.
