Jammu, April 10: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today chaired a high-level meeting of the Union Territory Level Standing Committee (UTLSC) to review and accelerate progress under Phase-IV of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Dulloo emphasized the urgent need to enhance rural connectivity, especially in underserved and border areas. He directed officials to prioritize the construction of all-weather roads to ensure reliable year-round access for remote villages and improve socio-economic development.
The Chief Secretary stressed timely execution of projects and encouraged better coordination among departments to overcome logistical and environmental challenges in difficult terrains. PMGSY-IV aims to strengthen rural infrastructure and bridge the connectivity gap in hilly and border regions of the Union Territory.
Officials assured that necessary steps would be taken to meet the targets and ensure quality and durability of roads being constructed.
