Jammu, March 23, 2025: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Jammu Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 520 grams of ganja and 12 quarters of whisky in the R.S. Pura area. The operation was conducted as part of the police’s ongoing anti-narcotics drive to curb drug abuse in the region.
A team from Police Station R.S. Pura, led by SHO Sh. R S Parihar, intercepted a suspicious vehicle (JK02W/8307) during a naka at Main Chowk Agra Chak. Upon frisking, the occupants were found in possession of narcotics and liquor.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Swaran Lal, son of Rattan Lal, and Rattan Lal alias Pidhu, son of Tunda Ram—both residents of Old Agra Chak, Tehsil R.S. Pura.
Following the arrest, an FIR No. 53/2025 was registered under Sections 8/20/29/60 of the NDPS Act & 48(a) of the Excise Act at PS R.S. Pura, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply network.
Jammu Police has reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking. The department assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
