Jammu, March 25, 2025:To engage youth in positive activities and provide them with a platform to showcase their talent, a football tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) was inaugurated today by SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh (JKPS) at Khel Gaon ground, Nagrota.
The event witnessed the presence of SP Rural Jammu, Sh. Brijesh Sharma (JKPS), Principal Sainik School Nagrota, SDPO Nagrota Sh. Vinod Kumar, officers from the Army and paramilitary forces, SHO Nagrota, SHO Jhajjar Kotli, along with other police officials. A large gathering of spectators, including prominent civil society members and media representatives, also attended the occasion.
A total of five teams will compete in the tournament. Addressing the gathering, SSP Jammu emphasized that the Jammu & Kashmir Police has always been committed to promoting youth engagement through positive activities. He highlighted that the objective of organizing such tournaments is to discover and nurture young talent, help them refine their skills, and simultaneously keep them away from drug abuse and other social evils.
The tournament is expected to foster sportsmanship and strengthen community-police relations while encouraging youth participation in constructive pursuits.
