Samba Police Busts Narcotics Smuggling Racket; Arrests Punjab-Based Drug Peddler with ₹7.46 Lakh Cash and Heroin
Samba, March 25, 2025: In a major breakthrough against narcotics smuggling, Samba Police have arrested a Punjab-based drug smuggler and seized ₹7,46,500 in cash along with approximately 20 grams of heroin-like substance in the Vijaypur area.

Acting on specific intelligence, a police team led by SHO Police Station Vijaypur, under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and overall guidance of SSP Samba, set up a vehicle checking naka near AIIMS Vijaypur. During the operation, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK08P-3662, coming from Rakh Barotian towards NHW, was intercepted for checking. Upon inspection, the police recovered a substantial amount of cash along with narcotics from the rider’s possession.

The arrested drug smuggler has been identified as Makhan Din, son of Swar Din, resident of Village Lauka, Tehsil Patti, District Tarn Taran (Punjab).

Following the seizure, FIR No. 34/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur, and further investigation is underway to unearth the network involved in this illegal trade.

Samba Police reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating drug menace from the region and urged the public to cooperate in the fight against narcotics.
