Reasi Police Cracks Down on Drug Peddlers, Two Arrested with Intoxicant Capsules
Reasi, March 11, 2025 – Continuing its relentless drive Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh against drug peddling, Reasi Police apprehended two individuals involved in illegal drug smuggling during a night patrol on March 10-11.

The accused have been identified as Ravi Sharma (32), son of Om Parkash, resident of Kanjali, Tehsil & District Reasi, and Kishor Singh (26), son of Karnail Singh, resident of Tanda, Tehsil & District Reasi. A police team from Police Post Dera Baba intercepted the duo, and upon conducting a personal search, recovered 20 strips of Pregabalin Pregzara-300 (each strip containing 10 capsules) from their possession.

Following the seizure, both individuals were immediately arrested, and a case under Sections 129/170 of BNSS has been registered against them. They were presented before the Hon’ble Court of EMIC Dera Baba today.

Strong Measures Against Drug Abuse

Reasi Police has been implementing a multi-pronged strategy to combat drug abuse. While awareness programs are being organized across the district, stringent action is being taken against drug peddlers, with many being booked under the PITNDPS Act.

Additionally, Reasi Police has launched an Anti-Drug Helpline (9070907017), ensuring that the identity of callers remains confidential.

SSP Reasi’s Stern Warning

SSP Reasi, Paramvir Singh (JKPS), issued a strong warning to drug peddlers, stating,
"There is no place for drug peddlers in Reasi. They must abandon the path of illegal activities or be prepared to face the law with an iron hand."

Reasi Police reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating drug menace and urged the public to support the mission by reporting drug-related activities.
